Readers,
Welcome to issue two of Limp Wrist!
I have to start with a brief story and apology. Montgomery Maxton has left the Limp Wrist
family. He is a busy photographer/poet/blogger/activist/part-time play boy. I am sure you
get my drift -- he is busy. I am thankful for the time he was able to give LW, and I speak for
everyone involved when I say we wish him much success with his new book coming out in
2009! (Maxy, Charlie will be happy to review it for a future issue!) After Maxy left, I had
someone step in to assist. To make a long story short, I was left with an incomplete LW.
This issue of LW is designed by yours truly, and web design is no inherent talent for me. I
hope the site does not in any shape or form take away from the talent displayed by the
writers and artists who are featured within.
an online magazine with queer sensibility

I am happy to announce that much has happened since issue the first of Limp Wrist went live. LW has announced
the details of its inaugural scholarship/poetry contest open to LGBT high school juniors and seniors. Besides
receiving a small scholarship, the 2008 scholarship recipient also wins a spot at the 2009 Juniper Summer Writing
Institute ( LW sends a huge thank you to the talented Dara Wier for making Juniper possible! Our other exciting
news is that LW may now accept tax deductible donations! Please click here to donate!
Welcome Heather Hughes to the LW staff as the editor of our prose section. When I started LW, one of my goals for
the magazine was for it to contain poetry, photography, review section, and prose. With issue two, we have reached
that goal, and it will take you to keep that goal maintained. Don't forget to visit our submissions guidelines page.
Take a moment to join the LW email list. All you have to do is send an email to me. (It is easy, breezy, more so than
Cover Girl!) If you join, I'll be able to inform you when we have all the wrinkles ironed out on gift basket raffle. LW has
reached out to numerous writers/artists, such as Marilyn Nelson, Paul Lisicky, Sandra Beasley, Eric Himan, LJ
Sellers, and Mandy Steckelberg, and we have received donations of autographed books/CDs that you will be able to
earn a chance at winning if you donate to LW. Join the email list and be the first to know about a fabulous, exciting
project involving poets such as Denise Duhamel, David Trinidad, Laure-Anne Bosselaar, and Kurt Brown!
Thank you for going Limp.
Hugs,
